Kigoma is a vast, dusty township in the South of Congo. Two teenage boys, Edo and Patient, inseparable as a pair of buttocks, sit watching the world go by — and Edo dreams of escape.
Edo seems his old self again, but the night before felt all too real. Word spreads of a new witch doctor in Kigoma — and that night, the two boys slip out into the dark.
Word spreads that Kabedi the prostitute is young again, thanks to the new witch doctor. Their fake amulets seem to be working — and Edo grows more worried by the day.
Edo is shaken by his friend's death, more than he lets on. Alone in the bush and waiting for clients, he discovers that Patient has not quite left his side.
